The Regent Centre was re-opened in 1983 with a team of local volunteers and enthusiasts with support from Christchurch Borough Council. Over the years the support from volunteers has enabled the venue to grow from strength to strength and continues to this day in that way. There is a team of volunteers for all of the FOH roles with support from a staff team in the Office and on Technical.
We are always looking to recruit new volunteers. There are opportunities to volunteer Front of House on Box Office, Bar, Coffee Bar and Technical volunteering. It is an exciting working environment with plenty of opportunities to meet and serve the public.
There are several opportunites to volunteer during the day or evening in a number of roles and we welcome a variety of applicants. (Please note, volunteers must be over the age of 18.)

Information regarding volunteering
(Please note, volunteers must be over the age of 18.)
Ensuring that you are fully equipped to undertake the various duties is vital. We will provide initial training so that you understand how the organisation works and what are your rights and responsibilities. This will include health and safety training, and gaining an understanding of how to make our customers feel valued. The training for specific duties will then be provided based on your own preferences. Follow-up training will be arranged on a regular basis and you should ensure that you make yourself available for this.
You may find after the initial training and having started duties, that volunteering at the Regent Centre is really not for you. After the first three months there will be an opportunity for a chat to ensure that you are happy with your progress. However, if before the review, you have decided that you do not want to continue, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can cover any duties for which you may be scheduled.
What happens next:
Please complete the online application form. We will then contact you to arrange an interview with the volunteer coordinator for the Regent Centre. This will establish whether you are happy to proceed and that we feel you are right to become a volunteer. It is important that both of us are happy before you to start training. We will then contact to you to confirm whether or not we will be continuing into your initial training and the date that will begin. Please ensure that you have provided an email address that you regularly access as this is the primary means of communication with volunteers.
