Set during the preparations for D-Day and the liberation of France, ‘Churchill’ takes us behind the scenes and reveals the real man behind the public face of Winston Churchill. He was gripped by doubt and paranoia about D-Day: during the First World War, he had overseen the invasion of Gallipoli, a disastrous campaign that resulted in more than 250,000 people being cut down. Nearly 30 years later, he was terrified that it would happen again, and that he’d be blamed for even more deaths. Brian Cox stars as ‘Churchill’, in a gripping biopic set during the most daunting period of the great man’s life. Also starring Miranda Richardson and John Slattery.
