Where is the Regent Centre?

Situated half way along the High Street in the picturesque town of Christchurch in Dorset. Our postcode is BH23 1AS

What can I do at the Regent Centre? 

The Regent Centre is open 365 days a year and has a full program of Film, Live Music, Theatre, Concerts, Broadcasts and Much More. You can also enjoy a coffee in our Foyer Cafe, as well as viewing work by local artists. We are also home to the Town's Information Centre situated in our building alongside the foyer.

Can I come to the Regent Centre if I’m not seeing a performance?

Absolutely. Our foyer is open every day (times vary) with areas to sit, meet friends, or view the arts exhibitions.

Where is the entrance?

The entrance for all areas with the exception of the Studio Space is located on the High Street. There are steps to enter the building but we also have a wheelchair lift should you require assistance.

Is there wheelchair access?

The Regent Centre is accessible via 6 steps into the foyer but we also have a wheelchair lift that one of our helpful volunteers can assist you with. If you are coming to watch a film or concert, we are happy to come and open the lower doors by the Disabled Parking bays to gain easier access into the Auditorium.

What Parking is available?

The Wick Lane Car Park is situated behind the Regent Centre and is £2 from 6.30pm. During sold out performances, we recommend using alternative town centre car parks situated a short walk away.

What time is the Regent Centre open?

Mondays 9am - 10pm (depending on finish time of events)

Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10am to 10pm (depending on the finish time of events)

Sundays 9:30am - 10pm (we will be closed in the afternoon if there are no events programmed)

Who can I ask if I need help once I am in inside the Regent Centre?

Our Box Office and Reception Desk staff can answer most questions. The ushers are also happy to help with questions.

How can I book tickets?

Tickets can be booked online at, by phone (01202 499199), or in person at the box office in the foyer. Telephone and in-person booking are available between 10am and 8pm.

Where is the box office?

Monday to Saturday between 10.00am to 4.30pm the Box Office is situated in the Regent Centre Information Centre.

At all other times the Box Office is situated opposite the Coffee Bar in the Regent Centre Foyer.

When is the box office open?

Usually 10am to 8pm seven days a week. However, the Box Office is closed on Sunday afternoons when there are no events scheduled and will close at 6pm on days with no evening events scheduled.

How can I book online?

Select the event you are interested in from the website - and click on the Performances and Bookings tab. Then click on the performance time you would like to attend.

How do I collect my tickets?

If you book your tickets more than seven days ahead, you can have them sent to you for a small postage charge. If you book within seven days – or if you prefer – you can collect them from the box office or from the ticket collection machine in the foyer. You will need to bring the card you made the booking with or the booking reference number to collect your tickets.

Is there a booking fee?

Please note that with effect from 1st June 2015 we will be introducing a booking fee for online bookings only.  We have resisted this for many years but due to increased bank charges and the cost of running a 24/7 website we cannot continue to absorb the cost into our already very competitive ticket prices.

There will be a 5% booking fee applied per online transaction, not per ticket, with a maximum charge of £10

What age do I need to buy a ticket for a child or infant?

Children up to 3 years do not need a ticket providing they sit on your lap for the duration of the performance. Children 3 years and over you will need to buy a ticket (seat) for.

What do I do if I arrive late?

Where possible the Regent Centre will try and seat you in your allocated seats during a break or clapping. We cannot always guarantee that this is possible and would advise patrons arriving at least half-an-hour before a performance.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds cannot be given on tickets bought for an event. Where possible we can arrange an exchange for a screening of a film to another night. Live Shows, Theatre, Music and Broadcasts are not applicable for this. In exceptional cases we can offer a Regent Centre voucher that can be redeemed against another performance or event. Refunds will only be given if we (The Regent Centre) cancel or move an event.

Are there concession rates available?

Where possible we will have a concession rate on certain performance. Concessions apply to ‘Over 60, Under 16’s, Students in full time education, registered disabled and they carer.

Can I bring my own food & drink into the auditorium?

We politely request that all food & drink consumed on the premises is bought from the Regent Centre. We have a very reasonable Café and Bar selling a range of hot & cold drinks, sweets, popcorn and confectionery.

How long will a production be?

Production lengths vary and we always advise checking in advance. Where possible we will give running times as an approximation as due to external factors, we cannot always guarantee they will run to time. If you are seeing a film, we expect between 7-10 minutes of adverts before the film starts. We would advise arriving by the time advertised.

What do I do if I have a complaint?

If you experience any difficulties during a performance, please speak with one of our volunteer Duty Managers who can assist on the night/event.
