Felicity Porter – General Manager

Felicity joined the Regent Centre in 2013 as the venues first ever Deputy Manager. She had previously worked for Hampshire Museums and Galleries Trust, implementing a three year Big Lottery Funded project across the county. Felicity’s career within the Arts has seen her work with a number of organisations, including FOH at The Lighthouse Poole and with Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company. She has undertaken a number of freelance opportunities that has seen her work with a circus training school, a sustainability charity and a number of UK festivals. She also been invited to speak at a number of events and university lectures on a variety of topics in relations to Arts and Event Management.  

 

Sara Stewart Haddow – Information Centre Manager

Sara joined The Regent Centre in Dec 2013 following the merger with the Christchurch Information Centre. Sara manages the Information Centre on a day-to-day basis and helps us welcome the estimated 1.5 million tourists to Christchurch every year, as well as over 100,000 into the Regent Centre alone.

 

Julie Corbin – Volunteer Coordinator

Julie joined The Regent Centre in August 2014 as our full time volunteer Coordinator. The Regent Centre currently has over 200 volunteers working FOH and it is Julie's responsibility to help manage them and the rotas.

 

Gary Theobald – Press, publicity and film officer

Gary is the Regent Centre’s longest serving staff member who has been with us for over 30 years. His knowledge and understanding of the film industry has enabled us to be in the forefront of film bookings and has made us into the venue we are today. He is a keen tennis player and cake eater

 

Alexandra Stanley – Finance Officer

Alex is an integral part of the Regent Centre that keeps us operating and functioning to a high level daily. We currently welcome over 300 events into the venue every year and Alex is responsible in making sure everyone gets paid on time, both in house and externally. Originally from Bath, Alex lives locally with her family and two dogs, Millie and George.

 

Shaun Luckly – Technical Stage Manager

Shaun studied for a BTEC National Diploma at Wakefield College, specialising in sound, lighting and dance. He then went on to study a Higher National Diploma in Theatre Design at Croydon College, specialising in sound and lighting. He worked for Director Ken Alexander at The Byre Theatre in St Andrews as resident Production Manager and sound engineer for their repertory Theatre before going to Glasgow to work at The Tron Theatre as the Assistant Technical Manager. He was involved in the design and implementation of their refurbishment when they were awarded a £3.5 Million Lottery Grant. In the late 1990's Shaun worked as a senior technician at the BIC before joining the Regent Centre in 2002 where he still enjoys turning around the busy schedule and training up and coming technicians.

 

Laura Dean – Marketing Assistant

Laura joined the team in 2016 as Marketing Assistant assisting the Deputy Manager with the marketing, publicity and promotion of the Regent Centre. She has a background in public relations having previously worked for a PR company in central Bournemouth. 

Laura is an avid theatre lover and loves heading to London to see the latest showing in the West End. She is also a keen performer and sings locally as part of a vocal duo with her sister, Emma.

 

Tom Critchell – Senior Technician

Tom started at the Regent Centre as a Technical volunteer after he did his work experience in 2011 and then joined the staff team in 2016. Tom previously worked at the Lighthouse as a casual Technician before they closed for their summer refurbishment, during which time he worked with English Touring Opera, Mousetrap, Birmingham Royal Ballet and many more.

He also Studied BTEC Performing Arts and is passionate about going to the theatre to see shows. Tom also worked at Adventure Wonderland as part of the Entertainments Team.

 

Geoff Estall – Maintenance Person

Born and bred in Christchurch, Geoff joined the team as Maintenance Person in August 2016. Geoff has a wealth of building/ maintenance experience, having worked in the industry nearly all of his working life. Over the past 6 years, Geoff has built up a successful handyman business, and worked as a Health & Safety plant instructor.
Geoff says “The Regent Centre is a great theatre, offering a mix of entertainment and is a real community hub. I’m delighted to join the team.”

 

Michelle Duncan – Front of House Assistant

Originally from Christchurch, Michelle has spent the past 14 years working in the charity sector at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). Michelle and her partner moved back to Christchurch a little over 3 years, and left the RNLI last year to provide care for her father.

Michelle says "I'm pleased to once more be working with volunteers in my part-time role at the Regent Centre as I find their commitment inspiring".  In her spare time she enjoys walking her dog 'Fizz' and is also studying for a book keeping qualification.

 

Simon Foulkes  – Front Of House Assistant

Simon is a local man and has lived in Christchurch all his life. In addition to his his new role at the Regent Centre, Simon is also busy studying sound engineering and works in a local recording studio.

When he's not working, Simon enjoys playing guitar in a punk rock band that gigs across the country. 

 

 

 

Rosemary Edwards  – Front Of House Assistant

Rosie is a practicing visual artist with a passion for all the arts.  She has worked in the arts for over 15 years for numerous arts organisations mainly in Wales.  This includes work for the Arts Council of Wales, annual arts festivals and Wales Millennium Centre where she undertook educational projects, programming and front of house duties.  
 
Rosie has been at the Regent Centre since September 2016 and says “It is nice to be able to work in a vibrant arts environment with enthusiastic people, both staff and volunteers, which also is at the heart of the local community.  This is a rare thing and should be cherished. “
